Kerins O'Rahillys 10K - 2015

Another running event held on what was a very busy last weekend was the inaugural "Kerins O'Rahillys 10K" in Tralee with start and finish at Kerins O'Rahillys GAA club grounds. It was a great turnout with over 350 finishers on a new 10K route, parts of which feature in the Tralee Marathon series of runs.
Among individual and age categories there was also a best team performance score and this titles went to Kerry Crusaders men's team and Na Gael GAA ladies team. This event was also second event of "Run The Kingdom" championships where top  10 finishers in both men and women category are awarded points in each of the events organised by RTK.
Overall winners of first Keries O'Rahillys 10K was Michael O'Regan and Caitriona Barry (FFMV AC).

St.Brendan's AC was again out in force with both Derek Griffin and Margaret Carlin taking 3rd places in overall men and women standings.

Top 3 Men:
1. Michael O'Regan                            32:24
2. Donal O'Callaghan (An Riocht AC)   33:10
3. Derek Griffin (St.Brendan's AC)    35:02

Top 3 Women:
1. Caitriona Barry (FFMV AC)              40:23
2. Sharon Cahill (An Riocht AC)           41:53
3. Margaret Carlin (St.Brendan's AC) 43:11

More noticeable results of our club athletes was performance of Ann McGlynn - picking up a prize in her age category to finish her double bill for weekend (after 5K in Killarney on Saturday). Ursula Barrett finished as a 6th Female and first in age category and being part of BTR team ("No Guts No Glory") to finish second in Team event.

Cathy Quilter also had a good day with her 3rd place in age group category.
In Mens section, Pat Sheehy took a break from marathon training to finish 1st in his age category. We also had Tom Scanlon, Kieran Behan and Tommy Redmond all finishing well under 50min mark. Great running guys despite the fact that this time of the year training and running opportunities are limited sometimes.

PARKRUN Tralee no.2 2015

It was a slightly lower number which took part in the second Tralee Parkrun but with other events happening in Killarney and Tralee over the same weekend, this was not too surprising.
Conditions for the more than 100 participants were good with a strong breeze in some open places and once again it was a mix of runners and joggers with a large numbers of walkers participating also.
Top spots went to Vinnie O'Leary (Kerry Crusaders) and Ciara Fields.

St.Brendan's AC had a presence on both sides of this event with Ursula Barrett and Pat Sheehy on duty as  volunteers with organisers.
Rest of club members did well again with Artur Nowak finishing 5th overall (1st in age cat.), Shannon Quill 2nd overall Women (1st in age cat.), Joe O'Brien 8th overall (2nd in age cat.), Yvonne Quill (3rd age cat.) Kirstie Nowak (4th age cat.), Catherine Burke (3rd age cat.), Chris O'Shea (5th age cat.) and Paudie Dineen.
